Volunteer Services at Walla Walla University

We are pleased that you are interested in volunteering your unique gifts, 技能, and experience to Walla Walla University to extend services and enhance our mission. A volunteer provides services without compensation for those services.

A volunteer does not have an employment relationship with Walla Walla University and receives no wages, salary or other compensation for services. A volunteer will not receive any reimbursement for expenses or other payment or benefit unless it is specified in a signed agreement between the volunteer and department and approved by administration. A volunteer is not eligible for any University employment benefits, including but not limited to vacation, 病假, 退休, 学费的好处, disability insurance, 健康保险, unemployment insurance, or workers compensation coverage.

Volunteer Insurance

For the protection of the university and its volunteers, the university provides the following insurance coverage for domestic projects:

  • 一般责任 coverage for claims that arise from authorized volunteer activities
  • 汽车保险 if a volunteer is authorized to drive a university-owned vehicle, and
  • 多余的事故 volunteer labor coverage for activity-related injuries to volunteers.

The university does not provide coverage for damage to a volunteer's personal vehicle. Volunteers must use their personal medical benefits as primary medical coverage and their personal auto coverage in the event of damage to their personal vehicles.
